Artist Bio ...... a little about Eddy Iwamura
Eddy Iwamura was born and raised in Tokyo. Her father was a teacher and leisurely artist and guitarist, and mother a full-time home maker and a calligrapher. Adding a music and art loving elder brother, she grew up in a typical suburban Japanese family.
Her love for drawing started early in life, but she pursued degrees in English Literature, Anthropology, and Business Administration. She worked at an accounting firm in New York City, became a CPA, and started painting and drawing.

For paintings, she intends to capture motions and moments in brush strokes, just like the Japanese calligraphy, to express "simple" and "natural". Soft colors are preferred and watercolors and acrylics are mainly used as medias.
Drawing cartoon is as much a challenge as a stress releaser. "The Universe of Bubble Heads" started in 2007 as one-window editorial cartoon. "Beach Animals!" series started in 2002, soon after Eddy started surfing in San Francisco Bay Area. The intention is to be funny, but she also wishes to send messages through cartoons.
Family, schools, jobs, and economy moved her from Tokyo to Los Angeles, Boston, New York, San Francisco, and to the current residence in Honolulu / Tokyo. She enjoys surfing and skiing (both forever beginner level), playing guitar and piano, and taking care of family, parakeet, and orchids. In ordinary days, she disguises herself as a hard working accountant.
